Building Responsible AI in Insurance
| ABSTRACT
Vietnam’s insurance industry is facing a dual pressure: market growth is slowing and margins are being squeezed, while AI is opening up the potential to save tens of billions of dollars through real-time fraud detection and automation. The question is no longer whether to adopt AI, but how to deploy it reliably.
GreenNode’s session at the Vietnam Insurance Summit 2026 identifies three real-world bottlenecks insurers face when implementing AI: business logic that cannot be reconfigured without waiting on the vendor, automated agents that are hard to trust when most projects stall at the proof-of-concept stage, and customer data that often sits beyond the enterprise’s infrastructure control. Building on these, GreenNode introduces a three-layer model that must be built in the right order for AI to run reliably: a sovereign infrastructure layer that keeps data within Vietnam, AgentBase, which lets agents operate within compliant boundaries through built-in identity, memory, and observability, and IDP, which lets business teams configure rules themselves, cutting claim processing time from tens of minutes down to under five minutes at 99% extraction accuracy.
The session also walks through a real deployment case study with a insurance claims TPA partner, internal proof points from over 240 agent projects built within VNG, and an analysis of the current legal framework, including the Data Law No. 142/2024 and Decree 53, to reinforce one core principle: AI governance only means something when the underlying infrastructure belongs to the enterprise, so every AI-driven decision can be traced, controlled, and accounted for.
